This 1 day First Aid at Work course is for people who work for organisations who need someone to be trained in first aid that conforms to the regulations which were changed in October 2013.
This means that the employer rather than the HSE is responsible for the standards of their first aid training.
THIS NOW MEANS THAT:
1. Every company HAS to carry out a "First Aid needs assessment".
2. Employers must ensure that their "First Aid provision" is "adequate and is appropriate".
3. Employers must ensure that their First Aiders
a. have undertaken suitable training in first aid.
b. have an appropriate first aid qualification.
c. remain competent to perform their role as a first aider.
4. First Aid courses now have to be regulated by either OFQUAL or by the employer who MUST ensure that they are compliant with the new regulations.
The course is taken over 1 day (6 hours) and covers:
The assessments will be carried out as an ongoing assessment process so NO end of course assessment!
On completion, successful candidates will be awarded an Ofqual approved Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate valid for three years.
